“I am writing to you, dear children,
because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.”
1 John 2:12
John writes to those that are young – and perhaps those that are young in the faith (the word here for “children” is not the Greek word meaning younger biological offspring). Particularly amidst the drama that the world offers, those young in the faith need a loving reminder that they are set apart and their sins are forgiven on account of his name, not by any other source.
