Dear Single Mom:
Thank you for your feedback this week, that these prayers of mine, this wrestling that takes place in my heart, that it has meant something to you. You are busy, life moves fast, and it takes everything you’ve got to keep up. Thank you for taking your time to express your heart to me. Your expression is a gift.
Thank you for making a series of small decisions every day to keep going, to not lose hope, to put one foot in front of the other. I don’t know why these trials are happening to you. I don’t like it. I praise God for you. Even in the ugly.
Thank you for being a God who listens and who moves and who answers. Thank you for the Single Moms and for every good way you work for them. Thank you for loving them, for having hope and a future for them. Thank you for carrying them through another week. I imagine there were times where they literally felt carried, not able to continue on their own strength, and you stepped in. Thank you for demonstrating your love in a world that is very ugly, very evil, very overwhelming for us to take on alone. Thank you for being a constant companion to Single Moms, and thank you for your light that you shine through them, and for their example to us of how you work powerfully. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
