Last week I spent some concentrated time praying for single moms. I dug into and prayed through scriptures that I had never really chewed on before and it was incredibly encouraging to pray for these women through the scriptures. Single parenthood often leaves me squeamish, because I can’t imagine the enormity of the task, and I personally know some amazing single moms that are my heroes, and I struggle to see them struggle. Praying for them spurred hope and their feedback this past week buoyed my faith. I want to continue to pray for these Single Moms, daily, and in particular each Monday.
Father in Heaven,
Thank you for engraving us on the palms of your hands, thank you for ever being aware of our boundaries, of our walls ever before you watchful and protective eye. Please remind Single Moms of how intimately aware you are of their every need. We know you count our tears, help each one be a movement to healing and comfort. Thank you that you desire to be our husband, our redeemer, Our Lord Almighty, the One who calls to us when we are distressed in spirit, regardless of where we come, you welcome us to bring comfort. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
“See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.” Isaiah 49:16
“For your Maker is your husband—
the Lord Almighty is his name—
the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer;
he is called the God of all the earth.
6 The Lord will call you back
as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit—
a wife who married young,
only to be rejected,” says your God.” Isaiah 54:5-6
