A tired mom looks to Him to power through

I take heart from John’s reminder to not be robotic when taking in teaching.   He reminds us, as his friends, to not believe everything – but to “Test the spirits to see whether they are from God.”   Yes, we should respectively listen – but not stop there.  We are called to go back and build upon biblical teaching to make that teaching our own personal convictions.    There is tremendous falsehood in opposition to the Spirit of God.  There was 2000 years ago, and there is still today.  It can be overwhelming at times.  John provides a helpful litmus test – what does the teaching say about Jesus?  The master of deception likes to tweak and twist and minimize Jesus.

Yet we are given access to such incredible guide with the Spirit! Not only to help but to do more – to overcome.  When the world cries loudly, the Spirit cries louder.  We are continually at a cross roads, having to determine whose voice we are listening to – the voice of truth, or the voice of falsehood.  We don’t listen and struggle alone.  We link arms and hearts with others listening to God, help one another, and follow the Spirit of Truth.  Christians aren’t designed to be or feel alone.  We need one another to help hear and broadcast the Spirit of Truth.

“This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
Hebrews 10:16

Replacing tradition and exterior based worship, God chose intimacy – He chose to put himself in our hearts and on our minds.
